Mission Statement

The Martock Ski Racing Club (MSRC) is a volunteer-based organization that strives to develop, deliver and support quality ski racing programs that encourage participation and excellence so athletes can achieve personal growth and success in a safe environment. Our club is a member of both Ski Nova Scotia (Ski NS) and Alpine Canada Alpin (ACA)

Location

MSRC's seasonal on-snow programming takes place at Ski Martock, in Windsor, Nova Scotia

MSRC Coaching Staff

All MSRC coaches are certified through ACA's coaching pathway, and the club’s coaches participate in the National Coaching Certification Program.

Ski Racing Programs

  • Our ski racing programs are categorized by athlete age
    • The on-snow portion of our 12 week season runs from January - March.
    • U10 and older athletes also participate in a pre-season dryland training program from September - December.
  • The club often offers on-snow preseason training camps for member athletes, usually in Quebec.
    • These camps take place in late December and/or early January, prior to the start of the Martock ski season.
  • With our partner ski race clubs from Ski NS, Ski NB and Ski PEI we often offer in-season training camps at other ski hills for interested athletes.
    • Some older athletes participate in a Super G speed camp
    • Younger athletes often travel for a NS March Break fun camp
  • The Atlantic race calendar varies by age group, but often takes our athletes to many of the other ski hills in Atlantic Canada.
  • Senior Race Team athletes are eligible to qualify for the Nova Scotia provincial ski team (Team NS) where they compete in larger regional race events in Ontario and Quebec.
    • Some Team NS athletes also compete at other events across Canada and in the Northeastern USA.

Volunteers

MSRC would be unable to operate without our wide range of parent and community volunteers. Our volunteer board of directors works closely with the coaching staff to deliver our ski-racing programs. We also have multiple club volunteers who assist with club social events, fundraising, race events, equipment/gear as well as many other roles.
